We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Project Manager III to join our Digital Technology Services team at Deaconess Health System. This senior-level role leads complex, high-impact initiatives that span multiple departments, systems, and entities. You will serve as a trusted partner to executive and senior leaders, shape PMO standards and methodologies, and mentor other project professionals—all while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

Job Overview

  • Lead the delivery of complex, enterprise-level IT and business projects
  • Provide advanced oversight of project planning, execution, risk management, and financial performance
  • Partner with directors and senior leaders to support decision-making and issue resolution
  • Mentor and coach Project Coordinators and Project Managers to support skill development and delivery consistency
  • Support project intake, prioritization, and sequencing in collaboration with PMO leadership
  • Shape and refine PMO standards, tools, templates, and delivery methodologies
  • Oversee vendor relationships and consulting engagements for assigned initiatives
  • Participate in PMO leadership coverage and special initiatives as assigned

What You Will Do

  • Assure complete documentation of all project objectives, assumptions, risks, milestones, and labor requirements
  • Coordinate development and presentation of resource requests for funding, staffing, and other project needs
  • Execute approved project assignments within established budget and timeline
  • Communicate project status (budget, timeline, scope, risks, and issues) in compliance with PMO guidelines
  • Work closely with the PMO Manager and Project Business Sponsors to manage scope changes and reportable events
  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases of the project lifecycle
  • Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in IT project management or PMO environments
  • Proven experience leading large, cross-functional, enterprise-level initiatives
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Experience managing project budgets, vendor relationships, and consulting engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach project team members
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar)
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar certification preferred
