Project description
Support network integration initiatives for the LHC team by providing enterprise‑level LAN/WAN and telecommunications services. The role focuses on maintaining stable, secure, and reliable network connectivity across integrated environments. This role is for a network engineer in a Windows‑based environment.
Main ResponsibilitiesSupport the LHC agency migration initiative, including re‑IP activities from LHC IP ranges to IP addresses across approximately 530 LHC agencies. Provide operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance for enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure with a primary focus on Cisco Meraki networking technologies. Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, performance, and telecommunications issues escalated from first‑level support teams. Install, configure, maintain, patch, and support network and telecommunications equipment while ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Monitor network availability, uptime, and overall infrastructure health across distributed enterprise environments. Collaborate with network engineers, project teams, and business stakeholders to support network implementations, upgrades, and migrations. Deliver technical guidance and support to end users and IT teams, assisting with troubleshooting and network‑related issue resolution. Document network configurations, procedures, and operational activities in accordance with organizational standards.
The contractor will operate as an AI User and is expected to: demonstrate proficiency with enterprise‑approved AI tools. Maintain approximately 90% weekly usage of approved platforms such as Git Hub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other sanctioned GenAI solutions. Leverage AI to improve productivity in troubleshooting, documentation, analysis, automation, and decision‑making activities. Continuously develop skills and stay current with evolving AI capabilities and best practices.
Responsibilities- Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN and telecom infrastructure.
- Monitor network uptime and resolve connectivity issues escalated from Level 1 support.
- Install, maintain, patch, and secure network and telecom equipment.
- Perform routine network maintenance and recommend/schedule repairs.
- Support and train users and IT staff on network/telecom troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers on complex network tasks.
- Mandatory Skills (no less than 5 years): LAN/WAN Networking, Network Troubleshooting, TCP/IP, Network Hardware & Telecom Equipment, Network Monitoring.
- Experience working in an ITIL environment.
- Hands‑on experience supporting, monitoring, and troubleshooting enterprise LAN/WAN and telecommunications environments. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, network hardware, and connectivity issue resolution, including escalation handling and system uptime monitoring.
- Demonstrate proficiency with enterprise‑approved AI tools. Maintain approximately 90% weekly usage of approved platforms such as Git Hub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other sanctioned GenAI solutions. Leverage AI to improve productivity in troubleshooting, documentation, analysis, automation, and decision‑making activities. Experience with healthcare or large enterprise network environments, exposure to network security practices, and ability to train or guide users and junior IT staff. Familiarity with network integration projects is a plus.
