Description
Ameri Qual is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Evansville, IN! If you have a passion for problem-solving, process improvement, and keeping operations running smoothly, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with new facilities equipment installations (HVAC, chillers, boilers, etc.) and manufacturing equipment setups, working professionally with manufacturers' representatives, the Engineering team, and cross-functional department members.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions by inspecting, operating, and testing equipment; support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Perform equipment calibrations and preventive maintenance, including lubrication and frequency-based tasks.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and GMPs.
- Determine when to contact manufacturers' service technicians for assistance with repairs or replacements.
- Accurately update the computerized maintenance system with details of work performed.
- Demonstrate urgency in completing work orders and documenting results; escalate equipment issues promptly for additional support and resources.
- Apply Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as 5 Why for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Industrial Maintenance or two or more years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills required.
- Electrical experience and knowledge of HVAC, chillers, boilers, and air compressors strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Professional, solutions-focused attitude.
- Thorough working knowledge of OSHA and safety standards.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work with minimal supervision.
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods.
- Ability to talk and hear in person and by telephone.
- Frequent use of hands to operate tools and equipment; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to service machinery.
- Perform intricate repairs requiring manual dexterity, sometimes in confined spaces or on complex machinery and packaging systems.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequent work on the production floor, requiring tolerance of standard seasonal warehouse and food-processing temperatures.
- Work in a facility where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
