We have an opening in our Operations team a Production Supervisor/Management Trainee on 2nd Shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm) at our Evansville, IN facility.

The main purpose of this position is providing quality and throughput of product in order to meet customer requirement, while continuously examining improvement opportunities to drive KPI’s related to:
Safety, Environmental, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Employee Relations. The position is also primarily responsible for ensuring all employees, that they directly supervise, abide by all Company guidelines and expectations.

Essential Functions:
  • Learn designated areas of Production Supervision & Operations – Gain knowledge of the areas of Operations with on the job training. This includes EHS, Quality, Delivery of Goods, and maintaining expense control through the implementation of best practices, communication, accountability, and organizational planning. Show signs of ability to achieve overall production results.
  • Serve as backup – to other Production Supervisors.
  • Continuous Improvement – Participate in improvement opportunities by identifying problems and implementing resolutions.
  • Employee Relations – handling of grievances at the lowest possible level, counseling of employees as needed, etc.
  • Personnel Policies & Procedures – Participates in training of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Reviews work instructions – associated with the above mentioned job title and regularly attends company-wide training on areas such as Corporate Ethics, Safety, Environmental, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A 4-year bachelor's degree with no experience in direct paint manufacturing or a minimum of six months of manufacturing experience or supervisory experience.
  • Employees must pass a color blindness test

Qualifications:
  • 1+ year of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.

Competencies:
  • Excellent computer and data entry skills – MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of relating to individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, detailed files and records, and comply with appropriate record keeping requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize in an effective and timely manner, set priorities and meet critical time deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of customer information, company formulations, raw materials, vendors, etc. As well as all Company information and matters.
  • Shows initiative and drive.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to all company policies, including Quality/EHS procedures and policies, and all applicable government regulations
Physical Demands Required to Perform

Essential Job Functions:
  • Walking around in department and throughout company to perform various tasks and obtain items.
  • Use of hands/wrists; uses various office equipment including computer, phone copy machine, etc.
  • Stand for long periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Talking on phone, talking in person with fellow employees.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites or other building on premises.
