Hire Level is hiring a Research Technician in Evansville, IN.

The Research Technician supports the Research & Development team by assisting with product development, formulation testing, and evaluation of new raw materials. This role performs laboratory testing, sample preparation, record keeping, and provides technical support for plant trials and other departments as needed.

The Research Technician plays a key role in ensuring accurate data collection, safe laboratory practices, and organized documentation throughout the product development process.

Location: Evansville, IN
Shift: Monday - Friday

2nd shift: 3:00pm – 11:30pm ($2/hr shift premium) Monday – Friday

3rd shift: 11:00pm – 7:30am ($2/hr shift premium) Monday – Friday

Pay: $19 - $21/hr.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Produce and test sample batches for product development and formulation
  • Perform testing on new and existing raw materials
  • Maintain accurate records related to product development and testing results
  • Prepare test data, samples, and documentation for internal use and product submissions
  • Maintain raw material records and submit Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for samples
  • Provide technical support during plant trials and scale-up activities
  • Submit new gauges to Quality Assurance for calibration record initiation
  • Perform required annual testing and maintain supporting records
  • Handle hazardous waste safely when required
  • Follow all chemical handling, laboratory, and equipment safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
  • Support other departments with technical or testing assistance as directed
  • Meet Research Technician safety and performance metrics, including TCIR expectations
Required Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with chemists, production, and quality teams
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to follow documented laboratory procedures and work instructions
  • Training in techniques outlined in Research & Development Laboratory Personnel Training Records
Education & Experience
  • Education:

    High School Diploma required
  • Experience:

    Research or laboratory experience preferred; manufacturing, chemical, or technical lab experience a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally and up to 30 lbs regularly
  • Combination of standing, walking, sitting, and movement throughout the lab and facility
  • Frequent use of fine motor skills and handling of lab samples and materials
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as needed
  • Visual acuity and mental focus required for testing and data analysis
