About the role:
Manufacturing Engineer I in Spencer, IN responsible for supporting and leading initiatives for daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment. The role drives production goals (safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity) and partners with cross‑functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot, and implement manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:- Monitor equipment, machines, and tools to correct problems and identify issues contributing to non‑conforming parts or low yields.
- Perform troubleshooting on new and existing products/process problems related to design, material, or processes.
- Contribute to business goals and product support using tools such as process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma, and value improvement projects.
- Summarize, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results.
- Identify, implement, and manage equipment requirements to support production goals.
- Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical).
- Proven understanding of engineering and problem‑solving principles, data analysis, and production flow tools (e.g., Lean manufacturing).
- Ability to develop creative solutions and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Initiative to identify, prioritize, communicate, and finalize improvement opportunities.
- Internship or other applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods.
- Experience with troubleshooting, analysis, and repair of equipment.
- Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives.
- Minimum Salary: $57,100
- Maximum Salary: $108,500
