Materials Technician
This position is required to bring correct and sufficient amounts of materials to machines, maintain correct inventories, determine which orders to run at a certain time, control scrap, monitor and identify raw material usage variances.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supply color and resin to assigned machines
- Maintain grinders
- Grind or dispose of scrap
- Operate machine during operator breaks
- Perform color changes on assigned machines
- Create production labels
- Scan out of color
- Maintain the resin silo board
- Check color chips for color match
- Material management - control of scrap and regrind usage
- Report scrap in detail
- Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP policies
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to anticipate machine needs and develop a routine
- Effective communication
- Basic computer skills
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Comprehension of central resin system
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
