Materials Technician

Job Description SUMMARY This position is required to bring correct and sufficient amounts of materials to machines, maintain correct inventories, determine which orders to run at a certain time, control scrap, monitor and identify raw material usage variances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Supply color and resin to assigned machines

Maintain grinders

Grind or dispose of scrap

Operate machine during operator breaks

Perform color changes on assigned machines

Create production labels

Scan out of color

Maintain the resin silo board

Check color chips for color match

Material management - control of scrap and regrind usage

Report scrap in detail

Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or GED required

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Ability to anticipate machine needs and develop a routine

Effective comm Basic computer skills

Basic mechanical understanding

Comprehension of central resin system PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to various types of equipment that have vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
