Renew Christian Church is looking for a passionate, outgoing, and driven leader to join our team as our Neighborhood Pastor. This full-time role focuses on building deep, intentional relationships with neighbors in the Lamasco neighborhood, mobilizing the church, and helping to bring positive and lasting change to the Lamasco through personal restoration and neighborhood revitalization.
Neighborhood Pastor ResponsibilitiesThe Neighborhood Pastor’s focus will be rooted in Love Lamasco, a ministry of Renew Christian Church in which Renew partners with the Lamasco Neighborhood Association to make positive and lasting changes in the neighborhood through a neighborhood revitalization initiative. - Invest in Gospel-Centered Friendships That Lead to Whole-Life Healing
- Engage neighbors by using the Love Your Neighborhood framework from Community One.
- Focus on building authentic friendships rooted in the Gospel, walking with neighbors towards wholeness (spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and financially).
- Help neighbors identify areas for growth and healing, supporting them along the way.
- Collect and share stories of hope and restoration happening in the neighborhood.
- Mobilize the Church for Neighborhood Ministry:
Inspire and equip the church to move beyond volunteering and engage in authentic and meaningful relationships with neighbors through resources, training, and opportunities. - Provide training in discipleship, cultural competence, toxic charity, and more.
- Track and evaluate the relational impact of Renew and other churches in Lamasco.
- Neighborhood Specific Responsibilities:
- Be part of the Love Lamasco leadership team and the Renew outreach team.
- Help plan and run Love Lamasco events and meetings with staff and volunteers.
- Grow in your understanding of neighborhood revitalization through books, training, weekly coaching sessions, and learning from experienced community leaders.
- Help apply for and manage grants and other funding for Love Lamasco.
- Assist with communication using social media, mailings, databases, and in-person outreach.

Support the vision, core values, and goals of Renew by participating in weekend worship services, staff meetings, special services, retreats, leadership development, and all church initiatives.
Support a young, innovative, fast-paced church with a “team-player attitude” and a willingness to do “whatever it takes.”
Share pastoral and shepherding responsibilities by providing pastoral care, prayer, and discipleship. This includes home and hospital visitation, funerals, weddings, and bereavement.
Adhere to Renew policies, procedures, and guidelines (such as spending, reporting, and safety).
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements- Strong Christian faith and lifestyle; must follow Renew’s Staff Covenant, align with Renew’s Statement of Beliefs, and may need to complete a Theological Alignment Questionnaire.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
- People-oriented and excited to build new relationships.
- Excellent communicators (written and verbal).
- Excited to learn and grow personally and professionally.
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
Experience, education, or background in areas such as ministry, discipleship, life coaching, non-profit leadership, social work, or similar fields is a plus.
Ability to set up for events, move supplies, clean/organize, and engage socially in an active ministry setting will occur while performing the duties of this job.
Travel for training, conferences, camps, retreats, or other events may take place. No additional travel is anticipated.
