Position: Seasonal Kettle Coordinator (Evansville)

Job Overview

As our Kettle Coordinator, you will work with employees and volunteers to raise funds need for services provided to individuals and families by The Salvation Army. You will oversee the daily operations of our Christmas Kettle campaign.

What You Will Do:
  • Visit approved kettle sites prior to start of season to ensure permission from store location for kettle placement
  • Place kettles at approved corps locations by last day of October
  • Perform Kettle Worker interviews and assist them with the application process ensuring that information provided is accurate and completed before presenting to Divisional Headquarters.
  • Arrange kettle sites and workers to effectively raise funds
  • Review and coordinate driving routes with other drivers and supervisor at the beginning of each shift
  • Assist in delivering kettles and necessary equipment (bell, apron, , etc.) to Bell Ringers at designated kettle sites for both paid workers and volunteers
  • Ensure necessary supplemental supplies and equipment (bells & kettles) are maintained in assigned vehicles
  • Compile schedule for checking on assigned Bell Ringers throughout shift(s)
  • Report any concerns, incidents, and problems to supervisor immediately
  • Ensure all kettles, bells, and aprons are safely secured and returned
  • Organize kettles and other necessary supplies for the next day's activities
  • Coordinate with office staff to ensure the accuracy of all data entered for workers and sites
  • Responsible for entering Register to Ring activity
  • Ensure that all drivers are recording proper information for each site and each paid worker
  • Coordinate with Corps Bookkeeper on weekly payroll
  • Distribute checks for all paid kettle workers on a weekly basis
  • Report any broken equipment (i.e. stands, bells, signs, aprons, locks, etc.) to supervisor immediately
  • Assist drivers with maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles used at all times
  • At the end of shift, ensure drivers have readied the vehicles are ready for next day - supplies properly stored, vehicles have sufficient gas and other fluids, and vehicles are in proper working order. Report any problems with supervisor immediately
  • Ensure the security of the daily funds at the end of each shift
  • Inventory of all supplies at the end of the Kettle season to prepare for ordering needed for the following year
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working with volunteers and employees preferred. Experience organizing events and coordinating activity is extremely helpful

Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard.
