Job Summary

Travel Stepdown RN – 13‑week assignment at a facility in Evansville, Indiana.

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients.
• Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and escalates concerns to supervisors or physicians.
• Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and cardiac emergency protocols.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients.
• Initiates patient education plans tailored to individual needs, emphasizing cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients.
• Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Minimum one year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN.
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) certification.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

• Must remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50–100 lbs).
• Requires the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and use department equipment during procedures.
• Must cope with frequent contact with the public and work under pressure, sometimes with close supervision and sometimes independently.
• Requires visual acuity and effective communication skills.
