The Dunigan Family School of Nursing at the University of Evansville (UE) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing. This is a full-time, 10-month, on-campus faculty appointment beginning in Fall 2026.
We are seeking a dedicated nursing professional who combines deep clinical expertise with a passion for student-centered teaching. In this role, you will shape the next generation of nurses through classroom instruction, simulation, and clinical oversight, while contributing to a program known for excellence and community impact.
Primary Responsibilities- Instruction & Course Coordination:
Develop, deliver, and assess didactic courses. Manage all aspects of course coordination, including syllabi, instructional materials, and evidence-based content for the classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical settings. - Clinical Oversight:
Provide direct supervision, guidance, and evaluation of students in clinical environments, ensuring they meet program outcomes and accreditation standards. - Student Mentorship:
Act as a dedicated mentor and academic advisor. Support student progression, assist with licensure readiness (NCLEX), and facilitate professional role socialization. - Institutional Service:
Contribute to departmental policy development and participate in program, College, and University committees. Represent the BSN program at recruitment events and attend accreditation-related activities. - Scholarly Activity:
Maintain expert knowledge in your subject matter. Engage in ongoing professional development, research, or quality improvement initiatives consistent with faculty expectations.
- Education:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution. - Licensure: A current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana (or eligibility for licensure).
- Clinical
Experience:
Minimum of three years of professional clinical nursing experience. - Teaching Commitment:
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
- Education:
An earned Doctorate (PhD, DNP) or current enrollment in a doctoral program. - Experience:
Previous experience in nursing education or as a clinical preceptor.
