** NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)
Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 11/2 -- Bi-weekly orientation

Primary location:
Midtown Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30pmFloat Requirement:
First to float within skillset. Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement:
Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal:
Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience

REQUIRED:

2 years RN, 1 full year stepdown, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting

Experience:

Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)
Patient Population:
Cardiac- post procedure (cath/stents/interventions, pacers), arrythmias, CVA, detox/CIWA, sepsis, DKA, respiratory distress, feeding tubes.

Skillset:
Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), post heart cath care (fem./TR bands), initiate/titrate drips (cardizem, amio, cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS/dysphagia screen/strong neuro assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, CPAP/Optiflow, PIV insertion. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidate

Unit Information: 22 beds. Ratio:
Days 1:3-4; NOCs 1:3-4; CN take up to two patients.

Unit Strengths:
Manager has been over the unit for 10+ years and has built an experienced team with excellent retention; unit had the lowest turnover in the organization for 2024.Scrub Colors:
Navy blue scrubs - No competing health systems or agency logos
* 3 call-ins can result in termination
**** Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new-hires
*** Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed REQUIRED
