Hire Level is hiring an Associate Chemist in Evansville, IN. Hire Level is seeking a motivated Associate Chemist to support laboratory testing, product development, and analytical research for a leading manufacturing facility in Evansville, IN.
Location:
Evansville, IN. Shift: All Shifts. Pay: $23.00 – $30.50/hr (based on experience and qualifications).
- Perform analytical, environmental, and physical testing on raw materials, in‑process materials, and finished products.
- Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and testing equipment.
- Assist with the formulation, design, and development of new products.
- Conduct routine laboratory experiments and testing assignments.
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and document laboratory data using established procedures.
- Prepare reports and communicate findings to internal teams.
- Support product development projects and coordinate assigned laboratory activities.
- Develop and improve laboratory testing methods and procedures.
- Evaluate new raw materials and suppliers through laboratory testing.
- Assist with calibration, gauge control, and laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Maintain laboratory inventory, supplies, and sample organization.
- Support hazardous waste handling and ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure customer requirements are incorporated into product development.
- Experience with or willingness to learn laboratory equipment such as FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), Dual Plate Rheometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA), Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA), Karl Fischer, Epoxy, NCO, and Amine Titration Systems, Brookfield Viscometer, Particle Size Analyzer, Corrosion Chambers, Long‑Term Weathering Equipment, Physical Testing Equipment (Tensile, Impact, and Vibration).
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field required.
- One or more years of laboratory, chemistry, or scientific experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to laboratory quality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
