Inotiv is seeking a
** Formulation Scientist
** to join our collaborative and fast-paced team. This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals (1–3 years of experience) with a chemistry or related science background who enjoy hands-on “kitchen chemistry” work in a regulated laboratory environment.

You’ll play a key role in preparing dosing formulations and supporting research studies that advance scientific discovery. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, documentation-driven, and enjoys problem-solving through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Prepare dosing formulations using standard laboratory techniques (weighing, pipetting, mixing, sonicating, homogenizing, diluting, filtering, etc.) as directed.
* Prepare reagents and assemble necessary equipment for formulation activities.
* Perform routine and moderately complex laboratory procedures while maintaining compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
* Troubleshoot formulation issues with minimal supervision and seek guidance when needed.
* Maintain accurate and complete records of all formulation activities, procedures, and equipment maintenance/calibration.
* Contribute to the review of formulation data and assist with equipment qualification.
* Stay current on updates and improvements in formulation methods and documentation practices.
* Support the continuous improvement of laboratory techniques, processes, and documentation.
* Participate in in-house training programs and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
** Qualifications
* ** Education & Experience
** Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Chemistry or a related scientific field from an accredited institution.
* 0–3 years of experience working in a laboratory, preferably within a regulated or GLP environment.
* Skills & Attributes
** Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Solid laboratory technique and ability to follow written procedures precisely.
* Working knowledge of analytical or formulation chemistry principles.
* Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Understanding of documentation and data integrity in regulated settings.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
* Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
* Physical & Environmental Requirements
** Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and manual dexterity to operate laboratory equipment.
* Regular exposure to laboratory chemicals, solvents, and biological materials.
* Ability to wear appropriate PPE (gloves, respirator, safety glasses, lab coat, etc.).
* Mantoux TB test with negative result required; immunizations may be required depending on study assignments.
* May occasionally be exposed to animal dander or environments associated with animal research.
* Moderate noise level typical of a laboratory setting.
* Tools & Equipment
* Includes but not limited to: balances, pH meters, mixers, centrifuges, homogenizers, pipettes, autoclaves, and general laboratory equipment.
