Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness
The University of Evansville invites applications for the position of Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness. This full-time leadership position provides strategic direction for the University's institutional research, assessment, and data analytics initiatives.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Assistant Vice President serves as the University's primary resource for data-informed decision-making and institutional effectiveness. The successful candidate will lead efforts related to data collection, analysis, reporting, accreditation support, and strategic planning while ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and responsible use of institutional data across the University.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and Effectiveness provides leadership for institutional research, data governance, assessment activities, and strategic reporting.
Institutional Research & Analytics- Lead and manage the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, including supervision of institutional research staff and data analysts.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of institutional data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop meaningful analyses that support strategic planning, policy development, enrollment management, student success initiatives, and institutional effectiveness efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to University leadership by providing data-informed insights and recommendations.
- Support institutional planning processes through research, assessment, benchmarking, and performance analysis.
- Partner with academic and administrative leaders to establish, monitor, and evaluate key performance indicators.
- Develop procedures and frameworks that promote continuous improvement across the institution.
- Facilitate evidence-based decision-making throughout the University.
- Coordinate and complete all required external reporting, including submissions to:
- Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
- State agencies
- Accrediting organizations
- Higher education consortia and surveys
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all institutional reporting activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting methodologies and data definitions.
- Lead and support accreditation efforts by providing institutional data, assessment results, and evidence-based analyses.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to evaluate institutional outcomes and effectiveness measures.
- Assist academic and administrative units with assessment planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Support the University's commitment to continuous quality improvement and accountability.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools that provide accessible and actionable institutional information.
- Promote transparency through the creation of user-friendly reporting resources and self-service data tools.
- Identify opportunities to improve institutional data infrastructure and reporting capabilities.
- Support campus stakeholders through training and consultation on data interpretation and utilization.
- Partner with Information Technology, Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Fiscal Affairs, and other University departments to ensure data alignment and consistency.
- Foster a culture of assessment, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
