Position Purpose
Cashiers play a critical customer service role by providing customers with fast, friendly, accurate and safe service. They process checkout and/or return transactions, as well as monitor and maintain the self‑checkout area.
Responsibilities- Provide fast, friendly, accurate and safe service to customers.
- Process checkout and return transactions.
- Monitor and maintain the Self‑Checkout area.
- Seek product/project knowledge to inform customers and identify selling opportunities.
- Follow all policies and procedures to minimize shrink.
- As a Head Cashier, position cashiers, expedite price checks, approve point‑of‑sale transactions, and approve markdowns for mainline registers, Self‑Checkout, returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Provide first‑level escalation for customer issues.
- Assist in supervision, coaching, and training of other front‑end associates, including training new cashiers and using all available coaching tools.
- Preferred: 1+ years of cashier experience.
