Account Specialist

The account specialist stimulates sales, and identifies and creates opportunities for various types of clients. This role functions in partnership with account representatives within a defined territory to bring in-depth knowledge within a product family. The account specialist provides training on Motion Industries products through technical presentations.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Increase revenue and profitability by recruiting new clients and further developing existing accounts.
• Regularly interact with clients in person to foster good relationships and maintain their satisfaction.
• Understand complex client requirements to prepare customized quotes.
• Give effective sales presentations and ensure technical requirements are met.
• Ensure that client technical requirements are met.
• Contribute to on-site troubleshooting for client concerns.
• Work with local clients to identify products and solutions, produce quotes, and close sales.
• Offer technical support as needed.
• Work with supplier resources and coordinate to build relationships and support sales.
• Perform other assigned tasks.

Education and Experience

Typically requires a high school diploma or general education diploma. Typically requires industry and sales experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Knowledge of industrial products: power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial products.
• Strong aptitude for communication, both oral and written.
• Excellent understanding of fundamental sales principles and best practices.
• Ability to influence clients while maintaining healthy relationships.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Aptitude for multitasking and time management.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.

Licenses and Certifications

Valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements

May require being on call evenings or weekends, as needed.
