Your Impact

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations & Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near Evansville, Indiana. The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism.

Core

Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub‑Station equipment.
  • Document work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi‑meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain a strong safety background, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

Core Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants (preferred).
  • Preventative maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub‑Stations equipment (e.g., TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI) (preferred).
  • Ability to take initiative and escalation issues onsite.
  • Capability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices.
  • High work ethic and strong aptitude.
Physical/Work Environment
  • Must live within approximately 50 miles of Evansville, Indiana.
  • Exposure to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Work on weekends and holidays, including on‑call service availability via telephone/message.
  • Possible travel up to 25% of the time.
Compensation

Hourly range: $30.00–$42.00 (DOE). Compensation is influenced by skill set, experience, and location. Employees may receive performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, and other benefits. The base pay range is $30 USD – $42 USD. Pearce adheres to pay‑equity and transparency laws.
