Job DescriptionUnlicensed Substitute
Everett Public Schools is currently seeking an unlicensed substitute for the Lafayette School. Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the educator will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment to students, parents and administration regarding student progress.
Responsibilities- Provides differentiated learning experiences that enable all students to make progress.
- Develops well-structured lessons with challenging, measurable objectives and appropriate student engagement strategies.
- Organizes and analyzes results from a variety of assessments to determine progress, adjust practice and implement appropriate interventions.
- Provides regular, specific feedback to students and families on student performance, including how it can be improved.
- Welcomes and encourages every family to become active participants in the classroom and school community.
- Uses two‑way communication with families about student performance and responds promptly and carefully to communication from families.
- Collaborates with colleagues to support improved student learning.
- Clearly communicates and consistently enforces specific standards for student work, effort and behavior.
- Uses rituals and routines that create and maintain a safe learning environment.
- Consistently uses practices that are likely to enable students to demonstrate respect for differences.
- Regularly reflects on his/her practice, individually and with colleagues.
- Individually and with colleagues develops strategies that contribute to the learning and productive behavior of all students.
- Actively creates and maintains an environment in which students’ diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected.
- Performs reasonable professional tasks or duties as may be requested by the Principal.
- Bachelor degree
- At least 1 year’s experience
- DESE Licensure preferred not required
Salary for this position will be based on the Everett Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. SY 25‑26 – $40,000.
