Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum and Assessment Specialist

The Everett Public Schools is seeking a collaborative and innovative Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum and Assessment Specialist to lead the district-wide implementation of evidence-based SEL curriculum, assessment, and targeted intervention practices. Working in partnership with SEL teachers, school counselors, building administrators, and district leadership, this position supports the development of a comprehensive, multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) that promotes student well-being, belonging, and academic success.

The SEL Curriculum and Assessment Specialist reports directly to the Director of Social Emotional Learning. The SEL Curriculum and Assessment Specialist will coordinate the implementation of SEL curriculum across all grade levels, support targeted interventions for students demonstrating social-emotional skill deficits, and assist in the implementation and use of universal mental health screening to inform instruction and student support.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Massachusetts DESE professional educator licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing evidence-based curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and intervention.
  • Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive instruction.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and professional development skills.
  • Experience working in diverse urban school settings is preferred.
  • Bilingual/multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the district-wide implementation of evidence-based SEL curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with SEL teachers, school counselors, administrators, and educators to strengthen Tier I SEL instruction and targeted interventions.
  • Support the implementation and analysis of universal mental health screening and other SEL assessment tools to identify student needs and monitor progress.
  • Use student data to assist schools in developing targeted intervention plans that strengthen students' social-emotional competencies.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, technical assistance, and professional development to support high-quality SEL implementation.
  • Develop and maintain district SEL resources, instructional materials, and implementation guidance.
  • Promote family engagement and collaborate with community partners to strengthen supports for students and families.
  • Assist with district initiatives that promote equitable access to social-emotional and mental health supports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Emotional Learning.

Salary:

This is a Unit A position. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Everett Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. SY 26-27. Pay Range - $65,178 - $125,654.
