VCA Everett Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant Supervisor to lead and support our nursing team.
This role calls for a leader who is equal parts clinical expert and people-first manager — someone who leads with empathy, communicates clearly, and knows how to bring out the best in a team.

ScheduleFull time, weekend rotation required.
Compensation$25.50 - $28.50 / hour based on skill set, licensure and experience.

Supervisor Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management- Provide direct, hands‑on leadership and mentorship for the CVT/VA team, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management
- Build and maintain nursing schedules, and coverage plans that support consistent, high‑quality patient care
- Lead regular one‑on‑ones and check‑ins focused on communication, trust, and team cohesion
- Model calm, steady leadership that helps the team navigate change and grow stronger together
- Establish and uphold clinical protocols and nursing care standards across the hospital
- Oversee patient monitoring, treatment administration, anesthesia support, and surgical assistance
- Ensure compliance with drug handling, controlled substance logging, and inventory control policies
- Partner closely with the medical director and veterinary team to maintain consistent, high‑quality care
- Design and lead ongoing training and CE opportunities to keep the team sharp and engaged
- Serve as a clinical coach and mentor for CVTs, VAs, and student externs
- Support technicians pursuing specialty certifications and career growth
- Foster open, honest communication and a collaborative team environment
- Actively work to strengthen morale, trust, and engagement across the nursing team
- Serve as a steady, approachable point of contact for staff concerns and team dynamics
- Monitor team retention, satisfaction, and workload balance, recommending improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with all applicable veterinary practice acts, OSHA, and safety regulations
