Primary Function
A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities that require certification of compliance with environmental regulations and collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the U.S. coastline. AIS is recruiting protected species observers (PSO) to deploy on a project on the Mystic River in Everett, MA.
Duties- Stand watch during soil boring operations in the Mystic River to record data on protected species sightings.
- Identify protected species and document their location, behavior, and other essential data.
- Record data on logs in an organized manner.
- Implement mitigation measures when necessary and station on the project barge during daylight operations.
Candidates will be selected based on their past experience identifying protected species and holding NMFS PSO approval letters.
