Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join our team in Everett, Washington. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to managing accounting tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and record accurate journal entries to maintain financial records.

- Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements as required.

- Utilize Excel to create and manage spreadsheets, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables for data analysis.

- Collaborate with team members and management to meet deadlines and resolve accounting issues.

- Support the transition to new accounting software, including potential implementation of Sage.

- Perform regular audits and reviews to maintain the integrity of financial data.

- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes with precision and efficiency.

- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.

- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the finance team. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a staff accountant role, with a progressive career path.

- Familiarity with general ledger systems and journal entry processes.

- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems independently.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to handle deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Experience with Abila MIP software is preferred.
