CV Resources is partnering with a publicly traded company in Seattle to identify an Assistant Controller.
This is a senior accounting leadership role responsible for supporting the Corporate Controller in overseeing financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. The position plays a key role in enhancing accounting processes, coordinating audit activities, and leading core close and reporting functions within a fast-moving, global organization.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Corporate Controller to manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adequate operational coverage
- Oversee and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close cycles
- Evaluate financial results through detailed review procedures, including account analysis and reconciliations
- Lead initiatives to improve accounting processes across domestic and international operations, with emphasis on SOX compliance and control effectiveness
- Maintain and strengthen internal control frameworks in alignment with SOX 404 requirements
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and coordinate support for interim reviews and year-end audit procedures
- Proactively surface accounting or process issues and develop practical, scalable resolutions
- Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver financial analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions
- Assist with technical accounting research and the preparation of formal accounting position documentation
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, ideally including public company or multinational exposure
- Background in public accounting audit strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control environments (SOX)
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing projects or accounting teams
- Comfortable operating in a high-volume, fast-changing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Strong Excel capabilities; familiarity with major ERP platforms (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar) preferred
- Base salary range: $150,000 – $200,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Eligible for annual bonus and equity participation
