The Opportunity

In this role, you will perform various clerical duties to support the agency's mission and office operations. This includes tasks such as establishing and maintaining record‑keeping and filing systems, managing databases, serving as a receptionist, performing basic mathematical calculations, and copying materials.

Responsibilities
  • Check copy machines for paper and refill and change toner
  • Clean and restock supplies in the copy area
  • Send faxes and distribute incoming faxes
  • Upload documents into Famlink
  • Send out dependency court hearing notices to caregivers and scan files
  • Prepare outgoing files and mail
  • Frequent travel to the post office to pick up mail
  • Distribute mail to staff mailboxes
  • Make packets for permanency, placement, foster parent, home visit, and background check applications
  • Recycle cardboard and empty the recycling bins
  • Occasional travel to local car wash and gas station to assist with maintenance of state vehicles
  • Answer multi‑line phones and transfer calls
  • Greet and assist clients and visitors
  • Sign for deliveries
  • Take messages for staff and convey messages to and from staff to clients
SESG Program Requirements
  • Have a developmental disability as defined in RCW 71A.10.020 or experience a significant disability as defined in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that seriously limits one or more functional capacities in terms of an employment outcome.
  • Require supported employment on‑the‑job training and long‑term support to satisfactorily perform job duties.
  • Provide an ongoing source of long‑term support to perform the duties of this position. Applicants will be required to submit medical and other information to show that they meet the criteria for the SESG Program and have a dependable source of long‑term employment support.

    Meet the requirements listed above to be eligible for the SESG Program and the qualifications listed below:

    • Six (6) months of clerical work experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • The ability to take action to learn and grow.
  • The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
  • Preferred/Desired Qualifications
    • Demonstrated ability to operate a computer and learn new programs.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate office equipment to complete daily tasks.
    • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with clients, community partners, and the general public.
    • Demonstrated ability to remain calm when interacting with hostile clients.
