Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced educational environment? The Advanced Manufacturing Skills Center (AMSC) and Washington Aerospace Training and Research Center (WATR) operated by Edmonds College at Paine Field in Everett are looking for a bright, adaptable Program Assistant to be the welcoming front-line representative for our campus and program. In this role, you will be the command center of our front desk.

Because our short-term training programs in aerospace, construction, and manufacturing are constantly evolving to meet industry needs, we need someone who learns quickly, easily adapts to changes, and is highly skilled with computers to manage records and schedules. Most importantly, you must have a knack for breaking down complicated information like multi-step enrollment processes, tuition tracking, or technical program details so that it is simple and clear for our students, instructors, and industry partners.

This is a classified position reporting to the Admin Services Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Front Desk Support: Serve as the primary point of contact and welcome desk lead, providing exceptional service and orientation for walk-in visitors, students, instructors, business partners, and staff.
  • Respond to inquiries about AMSC/WATR Center, Creative Tech and Construction programs via phone, email, and in-person
  • Clear & Accessible Communication: Confidently break down and explain complex program details for AMSC/WATR Center, Creative Tech, and Construction programs via phone, email, and in-person. Deliver accurate, timely information to ensure smooth enrollment and course participation.
  • Tech-Forward Administration: Utilize computer systems to maintain accurate student records, manage enrollment rosters, track tuition/fees, and assign group identifications to students while tracking program status.
  • Provide backup support for scheduling contract instructors and coordinate with the Administrative Services Manager
  • Support contract compliance by ensuring student accounts are in good standing prior to class start
  • Maintain and communicate accurate course schedules and registration details
  • Support a welcoming environment for all learners
  • Deliver accurate, timely information to ensure smooth enrollment and course participation
  • Manage logistics and provide administrative support for operations and events
  • Proactively seek out information related to emerging technologies and educational needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years of experience providing direct customer service, resolving issues, and maintaining confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and/or student information systems like ctc link
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-traffic setting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience working in education, training, or career-connected learning environments
  • Familiarity with contract training, enrollment procedures, or short-term workforce programs
  • Experience scheduling instructors or managing rosters
  • Commitment to student-centered support
  • Four years of customer service or administrative experience, ideally in a college or training setting
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position works on-site at the AMSC. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk, use a computer, and interact with students and faculty in person. It includes frequent phone and email communication, and occasional movement throughout the training center. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs.…
