Senior Business Development Manager (Satellite Constellations)

We are searching for a Senior Business Development Manager to join the Muon Space team. The role focuses on expanding business in the Department of War (DoW) sector, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Growth and collaborating closely with Engineering, Technology, Legal, and Finance teams. The core responsibilities include outreach to the DoW customer community, strategic portfolio planning, internal development initiatives, and leading capture efforts to secure new opportunities.

this Role

As a Senior Business Development Manager working in the DoW/IC portfolio, you will create new opportunities, lead capture activities, proposals, and win new business. You will guide the process from initial customer engagement to contract award, delivering comprehensive strategies and support across the entire sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive near‑term and long‑term growth for Muon Space in DoD.
  • Lead customer engagement, pipeline development, and capture efforts.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing and synthesizing a cohesive, executable strategy for target organizations.
  • Identify new opportunities and lead capture throughout pipeline stages to support company growth targets.
  • Create, maintain, and implement customer engagement plans.
  • Lead proposals and RFI responses: develop win themes, collaborate with engineering on technical solutions, create Price-to-Win models, write content, and review submissions.
  • Leverage Muon Space’s tools and processes to track and manage opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other BD personnel and engineering on opportunities.
  • Integrate customer input into the product technology roadmap.
  • Work with Legal and Finance on opportunities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in aerospace/defense with 5+ years in Business Development.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute plans with clear ownership and minimal oversight.
  • Experience supporting or leading USG captures and proposals.
  • Success in capturing space business within the DoW.
  • Continuous learner who embraces uncertainty, takes risks, and learns from mistakes.
  • Proactiveness in championing necessary causes.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence for interacting with staff, colleagues, cross‑functional teams, and customers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced development environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
  • Eligible to obtain or possess a security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a technical field.
  • Experience delivering to DoW/IC.
  • Mission knowledge in Space Based Environmental Monitoring.
  • Experience with remote sensing satellite development and/or mission operations.
  • Experience working with diverse U.S. Government DoW, IC, and Civil customers.
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes and system architectures.
Salary and Compensation

Base salary range: $147,000 – $164,000 with OTE $294,000 – $328,000 (base + target commission at 100% quota attainment). Commission structure is uncapped. In addition, competitive equity and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.
