Availability:
Monday-Friday;
Must be available for shifts between 6:20 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Site hours are 6:20-9:00am and 3:15-6:30pm M-TH & 2:00-6:30pm Friday.

What you will do at the Y:

As a Before & After School Site Coordinator, you will lead and oversee the daily operation of a high-quality licensed school-age child care program. You'll lead and support a team of staff, create a safe and engaging environment for children, and build positive relationships with families and school partners.

During the school year, you'll work in our before and after-school programs. During the summer, you'll serve in a leadership role at one of our YMCA day camps.

Work Schedule

This is an in-person, full-time, year-round position working directly with children, Monday-Friday .

Site Coordinators typically work a combination of:
  • Morning program hours before school
  • Administrative hours during the school day
  • Afternoon program hours after school
  • O n non-school days and summer breaks :
    Full Day program hours, 8-hour shift.

Most Site Coordinators work 35- 40 hours per week, with a mix of leadership, administrative, and direct program in-ratio responsibilities.

Job Duties /Responsibilities:

Lead the daily operations of a licensed before and after-school program.

Coordinate with the P rogram D irector to develop, prepare , and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning, belonging, and healthy development.

Supervision of all children and related program area activities .

Supervise, coach, and support a team of youth development staff.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for every child.

Build positive relationships with families, school staff, and community partners.

Ensure compliance with state and local regulations in addition to YMCA standards and procedures .

Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility .

Maintain required program records .

Complete administrative responsibilities including scheduling, planning, communication, and documentation.

Support nearby Y school-age care sites as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned .

Qualifications:

Two or more years working in licensed School-Age Care program, with children in a developmentally appropriate group setting. Preferred, YMCA experience .

Meet educational and experience qualifications established by the DCYF (Dept of Children, Youth and Families

Have a high school diploma or equivalent;

Complete thirty college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent;

OR

Have completed at least twelve college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent AND complete an additional eighteen college credits in any one hundred-level or above coursework or equivalent within five years of employment

Provide document ation of all certification and training requirements established by the DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, fully vaccinated for MMR/other required vaccinations*, and portable background check

Experience p lan ning, organizing , and implement ing high quality developmentally appropriate programming

Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities

Fluency in second language desired
