- Supervises and interacts with children to extend their learning.
- Facilitates small group activities.
- Models appropriate and professional practice aligned with ECEAP performance standards.
- Assists with record keeping related to attendance, meal counts, parent contact hours, accidents, illnesses, and emergency drills.
- Records child observations and assists with child assessments as needed.
- Participates in home visits and parent-teacher conferences when appropriate.
- Plans, implements, and attends parent/family events, activities, and meetings.
- Actively participates in all site-based, county, and agency meetings and in-service trainings.
- Performs classroom and program housekeeping tasks.
- Translates written and verbal information to children, parents and staff when applicable.
- Perform other tasks as directed.

We’re looking for candidates who bring the skills, experience, and qualifications needed to succeed in the role and contribute to our team.
- Equivalent of 12 college quarter credits in Early Childhood Education.
- DCYF Equivalent.
- Completion of Child Care Basics Training or equivalency.
- A current Infant, Child, and Adult First Aid/CPR Certification
- HIV/AIDS and Blood-Borne Pathogens Training
- Washington State Patrol/MERIT Background Check
- Hepatitis B Vaccination (optional)
- TB Test
- MMR Immunization or Immunity Proof
- Food Handler’s Card
- Read, speak, stand, walk, sit, and use a computer keyboard and monitor.
- Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, children, parents, and volunteers.
- Reach above head, bend to the floor, and perform repetitive movements.
- Transfer up to 50 lbs. with help.
- Have sufficient finger dexterity to open containers, buttons, and zippers.
- This position may be exposed to bodily fluids, infections, and odors.
