Position Overview
Project Manager – Western Washington (Greater Seattle/Tacoma Area)
Absher Construction, a 100% employee‑owned general contractor with 85+ years of experience, seeks a Project Manager to lead project delivery from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring quality, safety, profitability, and strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Lead project execution, ensuring successful delivery, financial performance, and team coordination.
- Oversee project startup, scheduling, change management, safety planning, quality control, and closeout.
- Manage relationships with owners, design partners, and subcontractors.
- Supervise and mentor project engineers and other staff.
- Review design documents for compliance with contract, standards, and constructability.
- Participate in preconstruction tasks including planning, estimating, and schedule development.
- Monitor and resolve conflicts or issues in the field in a proactive, solution‑oriented manner.
- Lead design‑build education and K‑12 projects, partnering with architects, engineers, and owners from early design through construction.
- Navigate school‑specific requirements, including occupied campuses, academic calendars, stakeholder coordination, and safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven project management experience in commercial construction.
- Comfortable working in design‑build environments with a focus on early decisions balancing budget, schedule, and educational program needs.
- Skilled in value engineering, design coordination, scheduling, and change‑order negotiation.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with owners, architects, and trade partners.
- Commitment to a safety‑first culture and inclusive team environment.
- Familiarity with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore) is a plus.
$120,000 – $150,000 USD (salary based on experience, education, and internal equity).
