Overview Of Position

The Production & Studio Operations Coordinator leads planning, technical execution, and operational delivery of live and recorded video productions for Seattle Public Schools Television (SPSTV). This role ensures seamless broadcast and streaming of district meetings, executive communications, school events, and public-facing video initiatives. The position coordinates studio operations, live event logistics, technical crews, equipment deployment, and production workflows to support district transparency, storytelling, and community engagement.

This role functions as the operational backbone of SPSTV’s production environment, bridging communications strategy, student learning, creative production, and technical broadcast execution.

Overview Of Position

The position coordinates studio operations, live event logistics, technical crews, equipment deployment, and production workflows to support district transparency, storytelling, and community engagement.

This role functions as the operational backbone of SPSTV’s production environment, bridging communications strategy, student learning, creative production, and technical broadcast execution.

Essential Functions 25%
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute live broadcasts and recordings of district events, board meetings, press briefings, and community engagements.
  • Manages day to day studio operations including scheduling, maintaining all technology including cameras, lighting, and digital audio.

  • Configure and operate all related SPSTV technology - video, lighting, audio, cameras, teleprompters, control room and video playback systems.

  • Attends planning meetings as needed.
  • Lead and support internal staff, hourly employees, contractors, students, and interns.

  • Serves as director and technical director (TD) on in-studio and remote productions.
  • Films and edits programs under deadline conditions.

  • Plans, prioritizes, organizes and coordinates workload and schedule.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and software issues.
  • Serve as a district resource regarding audio, video production, equipment, and video-related web technology.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
