Position: Emergency Medicine MD/DO

Reason for Coverage: Long-termpermanent search

Practice Setting:

  • Night and weekend coverage
  • Will work along-side APPs
  • Admissions coordinated through Hospitalist and Specialties Groups
  • Procedures include intubations, chest tubes, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, joint aspirations, laceration repair, and I&Ds
  • No vent management

Schedule:

  • Night and weekend shifts
  • 7:00a-7:00p or 7:00p-7:00a

Patient Population: All ages

EMR: Cerner

Credentialing: 90 days

Requirements:

  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent
Job Responsibilities (Generalized)
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients across avariety of clinical settings, including evaluation,diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions
  • Conduct thoroughpatient histories, physical examinations, and clinicalassessments
  • Order,interpret, and review diagnostic testing includinglaboratory work, imaging, and other studies as appropriate
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice
  • Manage ongoing patient care, including follow-up evaluations and coordination of treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality ofcare
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical findings accurately and in compliance with facility standards
  • Respond topatient concerns and provide education regardingdiagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, credentialingrequirements, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Adapt quickly tonew clinical environments, workflows, and electronic medical record systems
  • Stay current onmedical advancements, clinical guidelines, and best practicesthrough continuing medical education and professional development

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of specialty principles and practices,including diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases
  • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Technical proficiency in performing procedures (if applicable)
  • Meticulousattention to detail and the ability to adaptto changing patent conditions
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage a patientworkload effectively
Requirements

Education:

  • Doctorof Medicine (MD) degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Residencytraining program in internal medicine accredited bythe Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Fellowship training in Emergency Medicine (may be preferred depending on the position)

Licenses&

Certifications:

  • Board certification in Emergency Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the AOA
  • Activeand unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania

Experience:

  • Whilespecific requirements may vary, most locum physicianpositions prefer candidates with at least one yearof experience in a clinical setting relevant totheir specialty

Travel:

Only local and drive-in candidates are being considered at this time.
