Join a Fort Wayne, Indiana, gastroenterology team as a locum tenens physician providing inpatient care, ERCP procedures, and 24-hour holiday call coverage. This focused opportunity is ideal for a board-certified gastroenterologist seeking a hospital-based physician job with strong clinical support.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,270-$7,420

• Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
• Healthcare Setting: On-site hospital-based practice
• Coverage Dates: December 25, 2026 through January 1, 2027 at 7:00 a.m.
• Coverage Structure: 24-hour call coverage for seven consecutive days
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patient encounters per shift
• Clinical Support: Advanced practice providers, a rounding nurse, and a dedicated gastroenterology team
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 30-45 days

• Physician with an MD or equivalent medical degree
• At least 1 year of gastroenterology experience
• Board certification in Gastroenterology
• Active Indiana medical license
• Active Indiana CSR and DEA registration
• Required training and proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP
• Current BLS certification
• Current ABLS certification
• Ability to provide inpatient consultations, evaluate transfers, and participate in 24-hour call coverage

• Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care for inpatients and patients requiring consultation.
• Respond to transfers and evaluate urgent gastroenterology cases.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP procedures.
• Provide 24-hour call coverage for seven consecutive days.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and the gastroenterology team.
• Document evaluations, procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately.
• Apply appropriate endoscopic expertise across procedures such as upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, biopsy, polypectomy, and related gastrointestinal interventions as clinically indicated.
