Social Studies Middle School Teacher - Our Lady of Hope, Everett

Our Lady of Hope School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Social Studies Teacher to teach grades 5 through 8. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of history, civics, and global awareness while supporting students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills. This teacher will collaborate closely with colleagues to create an engaging, student-centered learning environment rooted in Catholic values.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging social studies instruction aligned with Washington State Standards
- Develop and implement curriculum that is rigorous, relevant, and differentiated to meet diverse student needs
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and assessments to support student growth
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic risk-taking
- Collaborate with middle school faculty to support interdisciplinary learning and student success
- Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues
- Integrate Catholic teachings and values into instruction and classroom culture
- Participate in school community events, faith activities, and professional development opportunities
- Bachelor's Degree and WA State Teaching Certification required
- Practicing Catholic preferred
- Strong commitment to Catholic education and fostering an attitude of service rooted in faith
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to collaboration
- Strong, positive, and proactive classroom management skills
- Extensive experience with differentiated instruction and assessment strategies
- Familiarity with social studies standards and curriculum development
- Solid organizational, planning, and curriculum mapping skills
- Passion and enthusiasm for working with middle school students
- Understanding of the developmental needs of young adolescents
- Ability to build supportive partnerships with parents and students
- High academic expectations and the ability to challenge and support students to reach their potential
- Skill in creating a classroom culture of mutual respect, encouragement, and academic risk-taking
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
- Creative problem-solving skills and a sense of humor
- Compensation ranges from $50,000 to $75,000
- Salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, applicant's skill and prior relevant experience, degrees and certifications.
