Monday - Thursday: 7:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. (includes one 15‑minute paid break and one 30‑minute unpaid meal break)

Wage: $26.66 per hour (2025‑26 PSE Salary Schedule)

Position Summary

Under the direction of a certificated teacher, this position is primarily instructional but limited to work within a special education self‑contained setting (individually or in small groups). The para educator will also assist with behavior and personal hygiene issues of high‑needs special education students. This position is temporary for the 2025‑26 school year and is paid on timesheet at step 1 (per PSE CBA 1.5.3).

Must meet WA State Para educator requirements
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Para educator Board ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university.
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a para educator in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
Upon hire, successful candidate must provide
  • A copy of a high school diploma or HS transcripts, or an acceptable equivalent document.
  • Official post‑secondary transcript(s).
