Position: Teacher of the Deaf in Everett, WA
Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic, contract role near Everett, WA. In this rewarding opportunity, you'll collaborate with school teams to deliver specialized instruction, help foster communication, and ensure students achieve their fullest academic and social potential. This position is ideal for educators skilled in creating inclusive, accessible learning environments that empower students with hearing differences.

Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Demonstrates experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledgeable about assistive technology and various modes of communication, including ASL, auditory/oral, cued speech, or total communication
  • Comfortable developing and implementing IEPs tailored to students' unique needs
  • Strong collaborative skills, fostering positive relationships with families, school staff, and other service providers
  • Flexible, compassionate, and committed to ongoing learning and advocacy
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and support services to students with hearing loss
  • Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and learning materials
  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress reporting
  • Educate school staff and parents on effective communication strategies and accommodations
  • Stay current with best practices in deaf education and participate in professional development opportunities
