Job Description

This position combines two Para educator assignments at our Community Based Transition Center. The selected candidate will work as a 1:1 Para educator for 3.0 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, 145 days per year, and as a general Para educator for 3.0 hours per day, Monday through Friday, 180 days per year. This position includes benefits. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.

Hours for this position are 7:30 a.m.

- 2:00 p.m. (M-Th) and 8:00 a.m.

- 11:00 a.m. (Fridays)

Minimum Qualifications: Basic WA State Para educator qualifications and experience working with children.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with older students with disabilities with moderate to substantial adaptive, functional academic, vocational, and independent living needs.

Rate of pay for positions:

1:1 Para educator (3.0 hours/day, Mon-Th): $30.96 - $41.24/hour

Para educator (3.0 hours/day, Mon-Fri): $29.81 - $40.08/hour

JOB TITLE:Para educator

REPORTS TO:Principal

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the teacher with planning, preparation and delivery of a quality instructional program based upon state standards, district curriculum, and effective instruction for students with diverse learning needs. Supervise students at recess, in the cafeteria, library, assistance for students riding the bus, and perform crossing guard duties before and after school. May assist with implementation of special education services for students i.e., IEP goals, medical assistance, physical support and personal care.
