Flight Control Engineer

Location: Everett, WA

Salary: $100.00 USD Hourly – $105.00 USD Hourly

We are looking for a Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer to support our team in Everett, Washington. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer to support our team in Everett, Washington.

• Decomposes airplane level requirements into system level requirements and further decomposes system level requirements into component requirements
• Participates in and/or lead system, component and detail certification efforts, including: creation of required certification artifacts, such as, system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and fault tree analysis; confirming and demonstrating traceability to regulatory requirements; and resolution of regulation conflicts.
• Gathers, defines and documents system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition.
• Resolves requirement conflicts. Performs and documents analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems to validate or assess the system design or models.
• Participates in and/or lead system level and component level validation analysis and testing, including: test monitoring; analysis and test report authoring; supplier test report review and approval; test failure analysis; and test failure mitigation.
• Generally, these activities require successful cross-functional coordination within: avionics, pilot/crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, BCA systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Develops solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction.
• Works under general direction.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
• 5-7 years of technical experience working with Flight Controls

• 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis; fault tree analysis; common cause analysis, and single & multiple failure analysis
• Knowledge/Experience with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761
• Experience with flight controls system and component architecture
• Experience in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation of flight control systems
• Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
• Experience with manufacturing regulated and certified, safety critical components and software
