Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Flight Deck Design is seeking an engaged and motivated Associate or Mid‑Level Flight Deck Design Engineer to join a team of highly skilled engineers that are passionate about working on the next generation Flight Deck for our Everett, Washington or Renton, Washington location. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the design of our Flight Decks from initial design development, test, certification, delivery as well as solving production and in‑service fleet issues.
The Flight Deck Design team defines the cockpit environment for all Boeing Commercial aircraft. We integrate with Flight Crew Ops, Pilots and our customers to ensure we deliver best in class Flight Decks that improves safety and addresses the needs of the Flight Crew.
- Leads work with internal customers and suppliers to develop and document component and detail design efforts, complex mechanical and electrical system requirements using analytical and technical skills, and thorough documentation within schedule and cost constraints, create design solutions using model‑based engineering software and numerical analysis.
- Leads cross‑functional technical coordination internally and externally to Boeing with the following, but not limited to manufacturing, Crew‑ops, airplane safety, Supply Chain Management, BCA Systems Software, Suppliers, Airline Customers, Regulatory Agencies, and other interfacing teams.
- Identify problems, perform root cause corrective analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide expeditious support to the Factory and Flight Line to resolve emergent issues.
- Develop Interface Control Documents (ICD) and Specification Control Documents/Drawings (SCD).
- Develop requirements and design consideration which best supports program objectives and requirements and impacts on data reliability and integrity, fault tree analysis (FTA), System Safety Analysis (SSA).
- Leads and coordinates work to analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
- Identifies problems, performs root cause corrective analysis, and implements corrective actions utilizing the Boeing Problem Solving Methodology (BPSM).
- Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
- Resolves issues and problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Research technology advances for potential application to company business needs.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Mechanical engineering.
- 2+ years of related work experience.
- Mechanical, Aero or Electrical Engineering Degree.

Work Schedule:
Full Time, Shift 1st (7 AM – 3 PM), Onsite. OT/DOT expected:
Possible (volunteer basis).
Interview: 30 minute MS Teams call camera on.
