VOIP Engineer ‐ Lead

Overview

SAIC is seeking a Senior VOIP Engineer to support a large government customer at the DOT headquarters in Washington, DC. This role is onsite and requires managing and integrating Voice services with Web Ex and other VTC technologies.

Responsible for analyzing, developing, and maintaining VOIP networks, designing and planning installation and maintenance of VOIP systems from project inception to conclusion. Manages Jabber and Webex and ensures proper integration and communication of those systems with the VOIP network.

• Expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Poly (Polycom), Cisco Web Ex, Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR), Zoom Rooms, legacy Poly Group Series, Microsoft Surface Hub, Cisco Boards.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, SIP, H.323, RTP), VLANs, QoS, firewall configurations for VTC.
• Integration of endpoints with backend systems like Real Presence Resource Manager (RPRM), ISE, Active Directory.

• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of complex audio, video, network issues and hardware peripherals.
• User support and training to end users, simplifying technical concepts for non-technical users.
• Field experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting VTC systems in field offices and remote sites.
• Vendor coordination to address hardware and software issues and implement solutions.
• Documentation and reporting: creating detailed SOPs and documenting maintenance and support activities.

• Mandatory:
  Poly Certified Video Conferencing Engineer (PCVE), Cisco Collaboration certifications (CCNA Collaboration, Cisco Video Network Specialist), CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation.
• Recommended:
  CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

• 8+ years of experience in video teleconferencing support or related IT field, advanced VOIP skills.
• Experience managing and integrating Voice services with Web Ex and other VTC technologies.
• Previous federal or enterprise environment experience is a plus.
• U.S. citizen or green card holder, resided in U.S. for at least 3 years, ability to obtain public trust.

Salary range: $80,001 - $120,000.
