WhatYou Will Do
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Korry, you won't just maintain processes; you'll be on the front lines of manufacturing innovation. You will leverage your technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills to develop, implement, and maintain advanced manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment for cutting‑edge new and existing products. This high‑impact role empowers you to:
- Drive continuous improvement: Identify significant productivity and cost savings opportunities, then lead the cross‑functional scoping, planning, purchasing and implementation of solutions.
- Solve complex challenges: Dive into failure analysis, determine root cause‑corrective actions, and support material reviews for highly regulated, high‑reliability products.
- Own your impact: Assess priorities, make critical decisions, and drive tangible improvements that directly contribute to the safety and performance of global aerospace platforms.
- Lead process innovation: Propose, plan, and implement substantial process improvements through the application of automation and new technologies, collaborating with expert vendors to develop bespoke solutions.
- Optimize production flow: Strategically plan and enhance production methods, including layout optimization, tooling development, and equipment selection, to meet stringent aerospace standards.
- Ensure quality and compliance: Assess and modify existing manufacturing systems and documentation to drive superior quality, efficiency, and compliance with rigorous industry regulations (e.g., AS9100, RTCA DO-160, MIL‑STD‑810).
- Collaborate on design: Advise design engineering on production capabilities to influence new product development, drive sustaining product improvements, and mitigate obsolescence challenges.
- Manage project lifecycle: Balance daily production support with high‑visibility cost savings initiatives and business priorities, maintaining a focus on risk and impact.
- Estimate and standardize: Accurately estimate manufacturing costs and determine time standards to support business planning.
- Provide expert support: Offer high‑level training and sustaining support to production personnel, acting as a go‑to expert for complex problem‑solving on the production floor.
Education and Experience
- B.S. or M.S. in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience with electronics manufacturing and assembly in aerospace or other highly‑regulated industry
Skills and Abilities
- Proven problem‑solving expertise through the application of various methodologies (e.g. RCA, 8D, PDCA, etc.).
- CAD proficiency in programs such as Creo, Solid Works, or similar software.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience through inception and implementation of productivity and cost‑savings initiatives.
- A self‑starting, highly accountable, and detail‑oriented approach to owning challenges and solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of breaking down complex information for appropriate audiences and skillfully negotiating timelines and deliverables with peers and management to align with business objectives.
- Desire to work in a fast‑paced environment and be empowered to innovate and implement change, bucking the status quo.
- Frequent movement about the production floor, working closely with operations and other engineering personnel.
- Continuous use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, etc.
- Uses hands, fingers, and arms to manipulate parts, equipment, tooling, materials, etc.
- Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
