Job SummaryWe are seeking experienced Technical Design Engineers/Technical Designers to support Aerospace Production Engineering operations across multiple Washington sites. This role will focus on resolving real-time production and fabrication issues, supporting product design updates, and collaborating with cross-functional aerospace engineering teams throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have strong aerospace design experience, hands‑on CATIA modeling expertise, understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support aerospace fabrication and production activities by resolving product and process‑related issues in real time.
- Create and revise 3D models, detail drawings, assemblies, and product structures using CATIA or equivalent CAD tools.
- Implement engineering‑driven model definition changes and translate engineering concepts into manufacturable designs.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Stress, Supplier, and Materials teams to support aircraft programs.
- Review engineering specifications, materials/process documents, and design requirements.
- Support failure analysis and corrective/preventive action investigations for aircraft components.
- Participate in cross‑functional design improvements and process optimization initiatives.
- Support deployment of tools, equipment, materials, and manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work effectively within agile, fast‑paced production environments while maintaining technical accuracy and quality standards.
- Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- 9+ years of aerospace design and drafting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience with CATIA or equivalent 3D solid modeling software.
- Experience working with aerospace detail parts, assemblies, and installations.
- Understanding of metallic part machining and manufacturing processes.
- Experience supporting production engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Experience using Integrated Visualization Tool (IVT).
- Strong problem‑solving and investigative skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working in engineering lab or testing environments.
- Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
