Job Title: KC-46A Mission Systems Avionics Engineer (Mid-Level, Lead or Senior)

Location: Everett, WA or Tukwila, WA (100% onsite)
Job SummaryEngineers will support design, development, testing, certification, and integration of KC-46 mission systems avionics subsystems. The role will involve managing hardware/software, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with FAA and military certification.
Key Responsibilities- Support engineering design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of mission avionics systems.
- Develop and validate system level requirements and support test plan development.
- Coordinate system‑level integration of hardware and software for mission avionics.
- Define and execute critical tests; validate performance against requirements.
- Provide technical management of critical suppliers and Boeing software teams.
- Gather information for proposal development and conduct trade studies.
- Coordinate FAA, military certification, and Boeing airworthiness activities.
- Consult with specialty engineering IPTs (safety, electromagnetic emissions, cybersecurity).
- Provide troubleshooting support in production labs and aircraft; conduct technical investigations and Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Chemistry) or equivalent.
- 3+ years of engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Eligible for U.S. export control compliance (U.S. Person).
- 5+ years of related work experience (Level
4) or 10+ years (Level
5). - ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering.
- Experience with software development processes.
- Experience with RF engineering principles, defensive systems, data networks, communication systems, navigation systems, flight management systems, and mission control systems.
- Experience with FAA and/or military certification requirements.
- Experience troubleshooting avionics equipment, electronics, and aircraft systems.
- Experience managing avionics line replaceable units (LRUs) and hardware/software integration.
- Experience with technical subcontract management and requirements decomposition.
- Experience evaluating aircraft maintenance requirements and airworthiness directives.
