In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer 2 you'll play a pivotal part on our Engineering team.
Scope of Work- The design function. This includes research, data acquisition, engineering generated required to generate engineering product (parts list, drawing, documents, etc.)
- The design content. Ensuring the design content confirms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer statement of work, along with the applicable certification requirements.
- Career growth. This includes working with Senior Technical Engineers and Project Engineers to grow in engineering experience.
- Expected to have expertise in an applicable discipline of Aircraft Systems Design (e.g., air conditioning, potable water, waste).
- Prepare engineering product using applicable computer tools and programs maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in product designs.
- Ensure that NAT's drawings and documents meet the standards established by the NAT quality system, customer requirements, and the applicable certification authority.
- Grow in experience by accepting tasks in multiple disciplines of the aerospace industry, including interiors and structures design disciplines.
- Minimal guidance required to accomplish tasks.
- Knowledge/
Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age. - The level II should have a four-year engineering degree, preferably in a field that offers the opportunity to gain a well-rounded background (i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Software Engineering) or industry experience that is equivalent.
- The level II engineer should be comfortable with assisting less experienced employees in the engineering group in the production of engineering product.
- Experienced in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD.
- Drawing management
- Troubleshooting/problem solving
- Ability to work independently or within a team
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of customer's expectation
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task effectively, and work under pressure
- Superior attention to detail
- Able to mentor less experienced engineering personnel in field of expertise
- Minimal coordination with customers, suppliers, and interdepartmental personnel required.
