Job Summary:
We're looking for an Engineering Technologist / Service Tech to join our growing WA team. This role involves designing and supporting building automation systems (BAS), from engineering through commissioning and performing duties that range from general troubleshooting on customer systems to support on BMS / low-voltage projects with a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You will be part of a team while also maintaining an independent role with a focus on ownership and organization throughout the entire service order process.
Key Responsibilities- Manage your personal WIP (Work in Progress) Service Orders from generation through completion.
- Remotely troubleshoot BAS issues and communicate resolution to the client.
- Participate in project handovers and gather necessary technical info.
- Design panel/network layouts and wiring diagrams using Ainsworth tools.
- Select and order materials per project requirements and deadlines.
- Create commissioning checklists and support system startup and testing.
- Program and test BAS to ensure compliance with specs and performance standards.
- Use and customize Ainsworth/Delta tools and graphics libraries.
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients.
- Assist in project close‑out, as‑built documentation, and team collaboration.
- Stay up to date with Delta systems and industry standards.
- Be a customer advocate while on your field service visits.
- Read and interpret Control, Mechanical, Electrical drawings and circuit diagrams as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose BMS systems and networks to automate building systems.
- Replace and/or repair building automation control equipment and devices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3 years of experience preferred but not required.
- LEB preferred but not required.
- Experience in the building controls automation industry preferred.
- Experience in the light commercial / residential HVAC industry preferred.
- Tech‑savvy with computers.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Class C driver’s license and clean driver’s record.
