What You Will Do
- Create multilayered 2D and 3D architectural and mechanical drawings in AutoCAD which will detail in plan, elevation and section a variety of custom fire-rated and non-fire-rated window and door frame products.
- Responsible for on time drawing delivery to project management and accuracy of output as measured through non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Provide support to client, project management, and production teams by creating drawings on a project by project basis suitable for customer review, for submittal to vendors for manufacturing, and for final fabrication in house.
- Routinely produce detailed mechanical fabrication drawings demonstrating knowledge of fit, form and finish required for accurate manufacture.
- Maintain well organized data and files (both physically and electronic) including estimated and actual hours worked on projects; estimated project material costs; with the goal of clearly communicating requirements to other departments.
- While balancing competing demands of other duties, respond timely to other requests for information or work product as needed by department manager or others.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Create system drawings for inclusion in bid proposals in support of development of project quotes.
- Contribution to process improvements leading to drafting department efficiencies, increased on time delivery, and reduction of errors.
- Associate degree in related specialty or combination of equivalent education and experience. Specifically training in AutoCAD is essential and Revit a plus.
- One (1) year or more equivalent experience drafting, preferably in a construction or architectural environment and/or in the door and window industry.
- Ability to interact with peers, production employees, and project managers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Follows detailed procedures and ensures accuracy in documentation and data.
- Carefully monitors process and organizes systems of records.
- Acquires understanding and absorbs new information rapidly.
- Retains and applies acquired knowledge.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer and a keyboard for extended periods of time on most or all workdays; the employee is also required to use a telephone throughout the workday as needed to conduct business. In addition, the individual in this job will be working under time pressure and must be able to perform under stress.
They must be able to work rapidly for long periods and to communicate and interact with others. They also must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks, read and comprehend the material they read. They must be able to write, problem solve, and they must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds. 40+ hours per week will typically be necessary to accomplish performance objectives and to provide satisfactory job presence and/or responsiveness.

- The expected base salary range: $60,000 – $75,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Full-time, hourly non-exempt.
Work Hours40 hours per week required, with opportunity for overtime subject to manager approval.
