The City of Everett, in Sultan, WA, seeks an operator to perform standard operating and maintenance procedures at the Water Filtration Plant. The role involves routine tasks, emergency repairs, and adherence to safety standards under the supervision of a senior operator. It is the second level in the Water Treatment Plant Operator series and may act as a lead shift operator.

• Operate and maintain water treatment equipment.
• Perform routine and emergency repairs.
• Follow established operating and maintenance procedures.
• Adhere to safety standards and other performance criteria.

• Valid Washington State Level II Water Treatment Plant Operator certification from the Washington State Department of Health, OR an equivalent Certificate recognized by the Association of Boards of Certification.
  • Obtain the Washington State Level II Certificate within six (6) months of hire.
  • Employees hired after 1/26/2023 must obtain a Washington State Level III Certificate within one (1) year of eligibility.
• Forklift operator certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain compliance with DOSH rules.
• Valid driver's license at the date of hire and ability to obtain and maintain a Washington State Driver License within 30 days.

• Full reciprocity with Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona, Massachusetts, Montana, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
• Conditional reciprocity with Oregon (certification via 2013 or later ABC exam), Nevada (2017 ABC exam), Colorado (levels A-D, not class S), Utah (non-restricted certificate), and New York (score 70% or higher).
• No reciprocity with California, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, or Texas.
