Boeing is seeking a highly skilled and passionate  
** Software Certification Engineer (Senior or Lead)
** to be an integral part of our Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering team in  
** Everett, WA** . This critical role contributes directly to the safety, reliability, and certification of advanced aircraft software systems, ensuring compliance with stringent FAA regulations and industry standards. As a key technical expert, you will drive the certification of software across Avionics, Cabin, Electrical Subsystems, Flight Controls, Interiors, Mechanical and Hydraulics, Network Systems, and Propulsion domains-helping to safeguard the lives of millions who depend on Boeing's excellence every day.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and supply chain to ensure high-quality software delivery and certification success. Your expertise and dedication will have a profound impact on the development of safe, innovative aerospace systems that push the boundaries of technology while maintaining the highest levels of safety assurance. * + Lead and manage a team of engineers focused on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft systems and components, with an unwavering commitment to safety

+ Cultivate a safety-first mindset within the engineering unit, ensuring that all engineering practices prioritize the well-being of passengers and crew

+ Collaborate closely with the FAA to navigate the complex certification process, ensuring that all aircraft designs comply with stringent regulatory requirements and safety standards

+ Develop and implement engineering strategies that emphasize safety and reliability, aligning with Boeing's commitment to delivering the highest quality aircraft

+ Serve as the primary liaison for FAA representatives, facilitating transparent communication and collaboration throughout the certification journey

+ Oversee the preparation and submission of comprehensive technical documentation required for FAA certification, ensuring that all materials reflect the highest standards of accuracy and thoroughness

+ Mentor and develop engineering staff, instilling a deep understanding of safety protocols and certification processes to enhance their professional growth and technical expertise

+ Analyze and resolve complex engineering challenges with a focus on safety, leveraging data-driven decision-making and industry best practices

+ Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered on time and meet all safety and certification milestones

** This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.*
* ** Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):*
* + Bachelor's Degree

+ To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

+ 9+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices

+ 9+ years of experience with DO-178C and supplements (DO-331, DO-332) and DO-330

+ 5+ years of experience as a Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist

+ 5+ years of experience working in aerospace, defense, or similar high-tech industry

** Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):*
* + Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

+  
** Level 5:
** 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

+ 9+ years of experience leading software development projects

+ Current Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Technical Standard Order (TSO) Certification Specialist

+

Experience with concurrent software and distributed systems

+ 9+ years' experience developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

+ Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

+ Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
