About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Certification and Airworthiness department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our magniX products throughout their lifecycle. Your expertise will play a crucial role in guiding the design, development, testing, and deployment phases, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Generate and review safety assessments and analyses at the aircraft, system, and equipment levels.
- Oversee and allocate the System Safety teams resources to support company objectives and priorities.
- Develop and implement system safety programs and plans for magniX products.
- Lead the ARP
4761 and ARP
4754 process implementation for systems safety. - Identify and review safety requirements and specifications for system components and subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into design and operational processes.
- Establish safety verification and validation criteria and support testing & evaluation activities.
- Lead systems safety activities for experimental flights.
- Prepare and present safety reports and documentation for internal reviews and regulatory compliance.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to system safety engineering.
- Foster effective communication, and collaboration with senior leaders across the company.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in system safety engineering within the aerospace, automotive, or electric propulsion industries.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards and regulations including ARP 4761, MIL-STD-882 & ARP
4754. - Experience with safety analysis tools and methodologies (Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA, etc.).
- Strong understanding of electric propulsion systems, battery technology, and associated safety considerations.
